3. Dan Mullen — Mississippi State Head Coach

Dan Mullen has everything that Tennessee could want in their next head coach.

He has over a decade of experience coaching in the SEC. He’s a protege of Urban Meyer. He’s fantastic with quarterbacks, and he’s had success in the SEC at a low level program.

Mullen, at 45 years old, doesn’t have a lot of downside. If he can win at Mississippi State, there’s little doubt he could win at Tennessee with much better talent and resources.

We already know that Tennessee has gauged the interest of Mullen. There might not be a better opportunity for him to leave Mississippi State. If he truly wants to get out of Starkville, this will be his best chance.
